Signpost and information boards at Kielder Castle
The information boards have maps showing walking and cycling trails throughout the Forest Park.
In the background is the 714 bus which runs to Kielder on summer Sundays from Gateshead Metro Centre via Newcastle and Northumbrian villages, and operates two shuttle-services along the lake before returning to Gateshead, giving plenty of time to explore. It's a lovely journey - ask the driver for an individual or family day-ticket - bargain!

Kielder Castle
Built in 1775 as a hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland, Kielder Castle is now one of the tourist attractions in Kielder Forest and is close to the start of the Kielder Forest Drive.

Kielder Castle
