Dead moles on a barbed wire fence
Please note this is not the Northumberland Fur Trade. When I was young this was a common sight on most farms and farmland other animals and birds were hung up in the same way such as rats, mice, and all members of the crow family. Now it isn't so common possibly because it is seen as barbaric or moles catchers are thin on the ground. I was told it served as a warning to moles to keep away. I didn't really believe this since moles spend most of their time underground and not on barbed wire fences plus their vision isn't very good.
