The final steps
A steep public footpath climbs from the estate on Wanless Lane up to Fellside, off Gallows Bank. These steps are encountered at the very top of the path as it reaches Tyneview Terrace.

Gallows Bank, Hexham
One of the best views over Hexham except that you never get an unfettered view. There is always something intruding like chimneys. The abbey stands out clearly.

Footpath to Fellside
A steep public footpath climbs from the estate on Wanless Lane up to Fellside, off Gallows Bank. The upper part of the path is a muddy informal track up a steep bank. Tyneview Terrace can be seen at the top of the slope.
