Princes Street Pant, Corbridge
See description here Image Hydrants and trough at junction with Orchard Crescent, late C18 or early C19. Squared stone, cast iron. Double stone trough with bucket rest bars, fed from twin lion-mask spouts on rear wall, with flanking wing walls reducing in height; walls have chamfered coping, the individual blocks linked by iron clamps. Princes Street Pant, Corbridge
A public water supply with one of the two spouts still running. The plaque reads: Princes Street Pant This pant, the first in Corbridge was donated by Eliezer Birch of Cross House in the 1760s for the use of horses before their journey up the new Aydon Turnpike up to the Military Road Corbridge Village Trust
