The fishmonger's
Corbridge is an affluent village and the centre is well kept.

Dukes Cottages, Corbridge
These old cottages date back to the early 19th century at least, and were the only buildings on the east end of St Helens Street until the 20th century. The name refers to the Duke of Northumberland no doubt, who owned a lot of the land.

St Helens Street, Corbridge
Looking west along the street. This used to be the northern edge of the village until later 20th century developments. The pantile roofed building is Dukes Cottages, which was all that stood here until the mid 20th century. The street name comes from a Medieval church which once occupied the site.
