Outside a bungalow in Riding Close. The village of Riding Mill seemed to be particularly well decorated with poppies for Armistice Day, 2018, many of them knitted.

Footpath closure sign
This presents a dilemma. It advises that the path to Corbridge is unavailable due to a landslip at Farnley Scar. One could easily walk a couple of kilometres before finding out if this is still the case, and running the risk of having to retrace quite a number of steps. I took the suggested alternative route.
