Telephone box and water pant
Decades ago, my mother won a photographic competition with a black and white shot of this scene, entitling it "Ancient and Modern" - the telephone box was the 'modern' bit at the time! Little has changed except for the attractive colourful planting (where used to be fairly-unkempt holly bushes). The narrow sun-lit passage visible just to the right of the pant leads to River View Image

Ovingham still retains its red phone box and what looked like a working telephone within. To the right of the phone box is (non functioning) pant.

Bridge End Inn, Ovingham
Home of the Bridge End Buskers (band), Bridge End Wheelers (cycle club) and the local cricket club. The photos on the suggest at least some people from the village are in all three! The Outterside family took over the Bridge End Inn, Ovingham, in 1975, an event celebrated with a fancy dress party in 2010, which included a set from the seven-strong pub band, the Bridge End Buskers. James Outerside's great grandparents were the licensees between 1930 and 1953.
