The A 183, Coast Road, South Shields.
This is Coast Road during the morning of the Great North Run Race day, looking north west towards the finishing line. One hour after the photograph was taken, both sides of Coast Road were packed with spectators.

Beach Road, South Shields
After the rain had stopped and long after Sir Mo Farah and the serious runners had finished the Great North Run in glorious sunshine. The tailenders had been caught in monsoon rain It flooded many roads and the Metro resulting in participants being trapped in South Shields for 3 hours or more.
