The milestone is located 20m east of the park entrance gate (Northumberland Park), behind the park wall and railings on the north side of the road. Parish of Tynemouth (North Tyneside District). Carved stone post, Newcastle number stone design, erected by the North Shields & Newcastle upon Tyne Turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Street Art (Graffiti), Brewhouse Bank, North Shields
This interesting piece of graffiti has been painted on the wooden hoarding that surround the former Tyne Brand factory site, once the UK's largest herring canning factory but long since closed (1976) and derelict. This work was created by mural and graffiti artist 'Sick Styles' a North Shields artist with over 20 years of experience who specializes in creating vibrant art installations and branding refurbishments that can refresh business, home, or exterior spaces. This work stands slightly down the bank from the artwork shown at https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/8029150.
