Industrial Unit, Walker Place, North Shields
The building is the premises of C E Coleman Ltd. who specialise in the sales and service of battery systems. The firm has been involved with Nickel Cadmium batteries for over 60 years. Their main area of expertise is in the testing and servicing of battery systems for railways, emergency lighting, diesel engine start and fire pumps. Batteries were originally manufactured by the firm in North Shields under the trade name 'Globemaster' but this ceased in the early 1990s due to the increasing costs of the raw materials.
