The Villa, The Green, Wallsend
Built in about 1857, this brick and stone built two storey detached house was for several decades the home of the Duffy family. A builder by trade, and owner of a local brickworks, Joseph Duffy built many of the terraced streets in Wallsend. He died in office as Mayor of Wallsend in 1910, and he is commemorated by the re-erected Duffy Memorial Fountain in Richardson Dees Park.
