Post Box, North Terrace, Wallsend
This box, which stands on the corner of North Road, dates from the reign of King George VI (1936-1952) and can be distinguished from post boxes dating from the reign of King George V (1910-1936) by the more ornate cipher and the inclusion of the Roman Numeral VI.

View west along the Metro line at Hadrian Road
Hadrian Road Metro Station is on a long straight stretch of the railway, as can be seen here. This line dates originally to 1839, but was converted to the Tyneside Metro light railway in 1980-84.

Former 'New Winning Tavern', Church Bank, Wallsend
This the 1894 brick and stone built former 'New Winning Tavern' which was converted into flats and apartments in 2019. The name of this former public house, which along with the date of build is clearly shown on the first floor stone side panel, was a nod to Wallsend's coal mining past. It is now looking as good as it has done for many years.

The 'Millennium Seat', Church of St. Peter, Wallsend
The 'Millennium Seat', which is located just inside the main entrance to the churchyard, was presented to the people of Wallsend by the Wallsend Pensioners and the Victor Mann Trust.

The tower of St Peter's Church, Wallsend
This was built in 1809 originally. The present appearance is due to an extensive rebuild in 1892 in the Perpendicular Style. The English Heritage flag on the top commemorates the major repairs partly financed by this organization in the late 20th century.

Church of St. Peter, Church Bank, Wallsend
The church of St. Peter's, which was consecrated in 1809, was built to replace the 12th century Holy Cross Church, half a mile away to the north-west. Subsequently it was extensively rebuilt in 1892 when it was, according to the 1992 edition of Nikolaus Pevsner's book, 'The Buildings of England Northumberland', “enlarged and Gothicized in the Perpendicular style by W. S Hicks”. Inside the churchyard is the 'Millennium Seat' https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/8102663.
