Cart Shed, Lysdon Farm
Originally this building was most likely used for housing and protecting carts, waggons and farm implements from the weather. These types of building were often open-fronted or one or two bays may have been enclosed with doors, much as all bays now are, and used for the storage of small implements. The majority of cart sheds were built in the late 18th or early 19th century. For a selection of detailed free to download walking routes in the area visit www.northtynesidewalks.co.uk
