Mural/Artwork Inside Pantrini's, 11-13 Marine Avenue, Whitley Bay
The Pantrini family has been serving fish & chips to the Whitley Bay community since 1920 and this interesting mural is a huge nod to the history of this much-loved seaside institution. As your eye scans this large mural, situated in the upstairs restaurant, you will see the name of Attilio, the great grandfather of the current owner Lee, who founded the business after coming to England from Italy as a 12-year old. You will also spot the name Babs, the daughter of Attilio and his wife Barbara, who lived all her life in Whitley Bay and who eventually became the owner of Pantrini's. A more detailed history can be found at https://pantrinisfishandchips.co.uk/pantrinis-history.

Crab & Waltzer, Whitley Bay
The Crab & Waltzer cafe/restaurant on Marine Avenue in Whitley Bay opened in June 2017. The 'Waltzer' part of the name is a reminder of the days of a permanent fun fair at Spanish City, just over the road. Some of the seats are old waltzer cars. For many years the building was the Indian Ocean, and more recently Siam Bay.
