Woodland, Seaton Delaval Colliery site
The trees appear to have been planted during the 1980s while the colliery closed in 1960. A clue to the missing years is a pair of drinking troughs for livestock, (one just visible in the photograph).

Surviving buildings, Seaton Delaval Colliery
The tarred track is the site of a wagonway, Seaton Delaval Colliery Railway which linked several pits with a common owner. This is the site of the Seaton Delaval Colliery which closed in 1960. Much of the site is covered in woodland.
