Leazes Park Road is a narrow one-way street in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The patterns of light on the building to the right are late afternoon sunlight reflected off the windows of buildings opposite.

Number 11, Percy Street
An attractive brick building which stands out from the other buildings in the location. It is a two storey brick building with an attic and stone decoration contrasting with the red brick material. The building is now divided into two shops, 'Magic Box' and 'Salt & Pepper' with Bradley Martin, a hair and beauty salon, on the upper level. It was originally the premises of a carriage works and still bears the sign below the balustrade:‘Carriage Proprietors. T Howe & Co.’. The building is also significant as the original home of the People’s Theatre when it was set up in the early 1900s as the ‘Clarion Dramatic Club’. Old building on Percy Street
This building stands on the corner of the junction between Percy Street and Leazes Park Road, on the left of the picture here. There is an interesting sign marked out in brickwork for T Howe & Co, Carriage Proprietors. I believe that in Edwardian times, they were undertakers, and the shop front must have been altered later, post WW1 perhaps. The building must date back to some time in the C19, and is an interesting survival.
