The Potters Wheel, Sunniside
This is one of five pubs in this village west of Gateshead. All are still open, most unusual these days. The Potters Wheel started life in the 1960's as the Blue Parrot - one of the first nightclubs in the North East. It was then a Chinese restaurant before being converted to a pub in the 1980's.

Granby Terrace, Sunniside
One of the original streets in the village, it faces on to the main road, the A692. The stone houses were built in the 1840's, including the pub. In 1912, the pub was rebuilt in brick - the present building.

The Rising Sun at Sunniside
Pub on the A692, the main road through the village. The pub is one of the oldest buildings in the village, and dates back to 1837. It was originally called The Sun, and I believe has recently reverted to the old name.
