Grange Welfare Club, Newburn Road, Throckley
Set up by the Grange Welfare Association to provide day care services for the elderly, the Grange Centre was opened in October 1975. The Grange Welfare Private Members Club returns all its profits to the Association.

The old wall along the street with a series of blocked up entrances are the only reminder of the old Mount Pleasant terraced houses that used to stand here, home in their day, to a large number of Throckley mining families.
