Scotswood Road, the A6085
On the north bank of the River Tyne.
The six spanned Scotswood Railway Bridge, in the background, is a disused railway bridge, formerly part of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, carrying the main line between the Scotswood and Blaydon stations.
The bridge still carries water and gas mains but the rail lines have been removed and it is not possible to cross safely.

National Cycle Network milepost at Scotswood
This milepost stands on Hadrian's Cycleway in the shadow of Scotswood Bridge over the River Tyne. This milepost (of the so-called "Welsh" design) was repainted as part of the 2021 repainting program. It used to be green, see Image
