Library, Heddon on the Wall
An old row of cottages, known as Mushroom Row (built 1832), was demolished in 1955 to make way for the new Library building. The newly refurbished library re-opened on Friday 5th March 2010. The management was transferred from Northumberland County Council to the Heddon on the Wall Community and will be manned by trained volunteers from the village.

Jubilee Tree, Heddon on the Wall
The tall tree on the left (a Golden Maple) Image was planted in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee (June 20, 1897). It was originally surrounded by iron railings set in a curved stone base. Part of the base is still visible, pushed up and distorted by the roots of the tree, but the railings are gone, probably removed like many others during the Second World War Image Left foreground is the boundary to Church House, south of St Andrew's Churchyard. Behind the tree is the Library Image with Amos Brothers Roman Wall Forge Image to its right. Beyond the access road is the Methodist Church Image http://heddonhistory.weebly.com/village-property.html
