Town Walls at St Andrew's
A short surviving section of the town wall at Newcastle. In St Andrew's churchyard. The wall was constructed in the 13th and 14th centuries and much of it was demolished in the early 19th century.

The Parish Church of St Andrew
The Church of Saint Andrew in Newgate Street is a grade I listed building (English Heritage List Entry Number: 1104887 http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=1104887&resourceID=5 Heritage Gateway). The chancel arch and lower part of tower and arcades date from the twelfth century but the church is mainly of thirteenth and fourteenth century construction. The porch was re-fronted in 1726. Other restoration work was undertaken in 1866.
