Former bus station on the Team Valley
This used to be the South End Bus Station on the Team Valley Trading Estate at Gateshead. When I worked here in the 1960's, most people came to work on the bus. To cater for all the buses, there were bus stations at both north and south ends of the valley. No longer needed of course, as most people now come to work by car.

Team Valley Trading Estate - Armstrong premises
The Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead began development in the 1930s and was one of the first industrial estates. The River Team still runs through the valley but now almost entirely hidden; it flows between the carriageways of Kingsway, the main road through the estate - beneath the grille in this photograph!

Exit from car park to Eleventh Avenue
This is a side exit from the Sainsbury supermarket car park at the south end of the Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead. The way is clearly intended as an exit only as the sprung metal plates in the ground will only flatten under the wheels of a vehicle heading outwards; they are known apparently as 'flow plates'.
