Former tollhouse
Surveyed by the Milestone Society. On Braidwood Road at the west end of the bridge over the R Clyde. The polygonal bay would give good visibility of travellers over the bridge. From the name of the village, presumably there was a ford to cross the river before the current narrow bridge was built.
