Tower, former Shotts Iron Works
Starting production in 1802, the Shotts Iron Works became world famous for its decorative castings, particularly lamp standards. Production continued for over 150 years.

Shotts Iron Works
Part of the remains of Shotts Iron Works opened in 1802 and demolished in the 1980's. The brick structure was a water tower.

Behind the Boys Brigade parade in Calderhead School playground here can be seen the long-ago demolished buildings that formed part of the foundry alongside the blast furnaces of the Shotts Iron Works.
