Exelsior Stadium
Built as a new home for the now defunct Airdrieonians Football Club. The stadium was too good to leave without a team, so homeless and near bankrupt Clydebank moved in and assumed the identity of Airdrie's lost football team; they are now known as Airdrie United and wear the near unique Airdrieonians diamond shirts.

Football stadium in Airdrie
Known as the Excelsior Stadium, or New Broomfield to some media and fans. Home to Airdieonians, who were founded in 2002 when Clydebank relocated to the town - not the same club as the Airdrieonians who were founded in 1878 and liquidated in 2002.

The Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie
From Craigneuk Avenue - home of Airdrie Football Club. The homes of most premier league football teams are usually in coastal towns. Airdrie's home ground is over 100 metres above sea level. So it has been suggested that this might be the top premier stadium in the country!

Broomfield Park
Airdrie United's Broomfield Park hosts the Queen of the South v FC Nordsjaelland UEFA cup first leg tie. It was the first that the Doonhamers had qualified for Europe but Palmerston Park was not up to UEFA standards, hence the switch of venues. Nordsjaelland won 2-1.
