Bridge over a disused railway, Caldercruix
Now a bridge over a railway under construction. The cycle path was closed soon after this was taken, and the railway between Bathgate and Airdrie is being reopened. The sign says: Blackridge 5, Edinburgh 37 and Plains 1 1/2 Glasgow 22.

Railway under construction, Caldercruix
Looking westward, downhill and towards Airdrie; work is in progress on reopening the railway. It looks as if the houses around the station site are now empty and will be demolished.

Caldercruix and Longriggend Parish Church
The road is now cut off, but was originally the B825 as it entered the village. This road now has its junction with the A89 a short distance to the east.
