There are four busts here, with two positioned on each side of the pedestrian precinct. Two of the busts are shown here, while one of those on the other side of the street is shown here: Image Together, the four busts make up a single public artwork called "Four Children". A plaque located here explains the work: "Four Children by Kenny Hunter" "The sculpted portrait bust is an object usually reserved for later life, bestowed on those who have been judged special, an achiever. This work, 'four children', inverts that tradition by monumentalising four anonymous children and drawing attention to childhood as an important and pivotal period in all our lives: a time when we project our hopes into an uncertain future." "This work was developed using a photographic record of Hamilton School children." There is a round covered structure some way ahead; from there, a lane leads off to the right, towards the entrance of a shopping centre.

This memorial had the lettering marked in paint when a Covenanter Trail was publicised to mark the 350th anniversary of the signing of the covenant in the kirkyard of Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh in 1638.

Some of the information on the board: THE FOUR HEADS MONUMENT PARTICULARLY HEAVY GOVERNMENT REPRESSION, IN THE SOUTH WEST OF SCOTLAND, LEFT MANY SMALL COMMUNITIES DESTITUTE AND SPARKED OFF A COVENANTING REBELLION, WHICH WAS DEFEATED AT RULLION GREEN IN THE LOTHIANS.THOUGH PROMISES WERE MADE TO THE CONTRARY, A NUMBER OF COVENANTERS WERE EXECUTED AT EDINBURGH AND THEIR DISMEMBERED BODY PARTS EXHIBITED AS A WARNING.
