Banks of the Cadzow Burn, Hamilton.
These banks formed the site of the Battle of the Hieton ('High Town') in 1650, between the English and the Covenanters. The English won the battle and many Covenanters lost their lives. These banks formed the site of the Battle of the Hieton ('High Town') in 1650. The Battle was fought between the Covenanters and the English. The English garrison won the Battle.
