Old Garrion Bridge 1871 - A71
The original Garrion Bridge is on the A71 route, it served as single way traffic operated by traffic lights from both sides, this caused major traffic delays and in 2001 was resolved by the completion of the New Garrion Bridge. The original bridge is still used and operates in a one way system in conjunction with the new bridge in a 'roundabout' flow.

Traffic on Garrion Bridge
With a new concrete bridge just upstream, this fine old bridge now forms part of a roundabout. Garrion Bridge was completed in 1817 and was much needed as the only crossing on the Clyde between Lanark and Bothwell.
