New Stevenston war memorial
Situated at the junction of Park Street and Coronation Road it was erected in the early 1920s and was paid for by public subscription. The low winter sun made it hard to omit the photographers shadow so it was included as part of the photo.

Bing, New Stevenson
Mine waste above New Stevenson. The foreground wastes are the site of the Clydesdale Steel Works which closed in 1991. The steelworks specialised in seamless tubes and produced a lot of material for the development of the North Sea oil field.
