Two Caledonian locomotives at Motherwell Depot, temporarily disabled
Two ex-Caledonian locomotives in the Locomotive Yard at Motherwell, dumped minus tenders and some of their wheels. On the left, Pickersgill 72 class 3P 4-4-0 No. 54506 (built 12/22, withdrawn 11/61); on the right Pickersgill/Hughes 4P 4-6-0 No. 54636 (built 1925, withdrawn 2/53). Therefore, in spite of appearances, these locomotives were not abandoned but had some years of active work ahead of them.
