View eastward, towards Peebles; ex-Caledonian Symington - Peebles branch. Passenger service ceased 5/6/50, goods (Symington - Broughton) 4/4/66. On horizon is Black Mount (1,639 ft.) and Broughton Heights.

An unusual sundial in Biggar
The gnomon (the vertical pin that casts the shadow) is very short. It would require a low winter sun to throw a shadow far out across the dial.
