George Meikle Kemp Memorial, Biggar
Inscription on plaque - George Meikle Kemp architect of the Sir Walter Scott Monument, Edinburgh, was born in a cottage at Hillridge Farm to the north west of this memorial on 25th May 1795. He died in Edinburgh on 6th March 1844. Biggar Museum Trust 1995.
