Rigside
Former mining village with a nearby opencast hole. Others are planned for the area, and this is quite a hot environmental topic at present in Scotland. Village is largely off the main road, just as well as it's the main route from several mines to the coal railhead near Lanark. Taken while visiting the rather good roadside caff.

A bell by the 4th green at Douglas Water Golf Course
The approach shot to the 4th green is a blind one and golfers leaving the green ring the bell to let players down the fairway know that the green is clear and it is safe to play. Part of the green is on the right.

Douglas Water Golf club (Hole 3 - Hell's Bunker)
Despite the name of the hole, this 9 hole golf course does not have any bunkers. Here we are looking up the 3rd fairway of this very attractive rural course.
