Dangerous pastimes at Kirkfieldbank
After three weeks of sub-zero temperatures the River Clyde is partly frozen and frost blankets the trees. These young guys are taking a big risk walking on the river ice.

The Kirkfielbank bridge was opened on 17th April 1959 by Edward Daly Esq, the County Convener.

The old bridge at Kirkfieldbank
This bridge is now bypassed by a more modern bridge over the Clyde. However, the old bridge appears to have sustained damage (or just old age) and extensive buttressing and repair work is going on.
