Railway remains at Dunsyre
The bridge taking the railway over the road has long gone, but the embankment and culvert taking a stream under still remains. It was part of the Dolphinton Branch of the Caledonian Railway, which opened in 1867, closed to passengers in 1945 and to freight in 1950.

The Dunsyre Burn runs under a disused railway .
Dunsyre is an attractive spot for walkers at any time of year. This burn runs right through the centre of the village, under the railway and into the pastures around South Medwin

Dunsyre Church
This small rural church stands on a mound that may have been the site of a much earlier church building. I believe it was sold by the Church of Scotland some years ago but the churchyard is still open to the public.
