Forth
High on the moors where Lanarkshire gives way to the Lothians is an unlikely place for a large village. Forth is here because of the Wilsontown iron works, long since closed. Mineral wealth brought settlement to an area with a harsh climate and little fertile land. View down the busy A706 which runs the length of the village.
