Model Railway
I am sure the experts would not say this is a model railway, but it had two live scale model steam locos and a diesel engine being used to pull children and adults around the track.

Strathaven Balloon Festival 2019
This is the Sunday evening flight, around 7pm when winds are light - although it had been such a warm day that launch was delayed until cooler air prevailed. The UK's furthest north balloon festival, this event has grown and grown, so much so that over 20,000 people descend on this small town (population 9000) for a weekend of hot-air balloons and the funfair.

Model railway in the George Allan Park, Strathaven
It's Easter Sunday and the model club are out running the miniature railway for a crowd of enthusiastic families. Sadly, this particular model loco is not driven by steam, but this track setup, which can accommodate five different gauges, is used regularly for model steam locomotive gatherings.

Model railway layout at Strathaven Park
There is an extensive, multi-gauge, layout here. On summer weekends, the local model club runs train trips for children, all in aid of club funds.
