Remains of an old railway bridge near Whiteshawgate
The bridge carried the railway from Hamilton to Strathaven over a minor road. The railway was opened in 1863 and closed in 1953.

Dismantled railway bridge
This carried the Caledonian Railway line from Strathaven Central to Blantyre and thence to Hamilton. It closed to passengers in 1945.
