Above the third lamp-post on the right, Tinto Hill can just about be seen in the far distance (30 Km away). The field on the right is not yet built upon but some builder is sure to have options on it.

Seen on a beech hedge
Not a berry or otherwise attached; some kind of insect egg cocoon? As a result of a very useful discussion - http://www.geograph.org.uk/discuss/index.php?&action=vthread&forum=2&topic=29301 - it was finally agreed that these are not animal or vegetable, but mineral; plastic insulation balls!

The annual Strathaven Balloon Festival, the most northerly in the UK, and blessed with calm warm weather in 2022.

Strathaven Balloon Festival 2019
This is the early Sunday morning flight, around 7am when the winds are low and the air cool. The UK's furthest north balloon festival, this event has grown and grown, so much so that over 20,000 people descend on this small town (population 9000) for a weekend of hot-air balloons and the funfair.
