Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes
At first sight, thoroughfares in central Milton Keynes can seem to be a confusing mass of roadways and footpaths; the logic is that either side of the main carriageway there is a service road with multiple parking bays. This is convenient for motorists (until the bays fill up), but less so for pedestrians who are faced with long walks because everything is so spread out. There is some provision for cyclists, however. The crane in the background is working on the Pinnacle, a new office block due to open in summer 2009.
