The Church Corner & Northampton Road at Lavendon
The sharp bend on the A428 is known locally as the Church Corner. Ahead is Northampton Road that climbs out of the village westwards and in the foreground is the junction with Castle Road sharp right.

The Church Corner in Lavendon
The Church Corner (an unofficial name) is a sharp bend on the A428 road in the centre of Lavendon. To the left, the main road heads for Northampton, and to the right on the bend is Castle Road named after Lavendon Castle, see SP9154.

St Michael's Church, Lavendon
St Michael's Church in the centre of the village is viewed here from the northeast, opposite the informally named Church Corner, with the A428 in the foreground and Castle Road behind camera. The church dates from the 11th century and has some remaining evidence of Saxon work, including a blocked doorway and windows.

The Village High Street at Lavendon
This is the approach into the village centre from the Bedford Road and A428. The Lavendon Union Chapel built in 1894 is on the left, just past which is the turn to Olney adjacent to the village war memorial.

Lavendon Union Chapel & War Memorial
Lavendon Union Chapel was founded in 1790 and rebuilt as shown here in 1894. The Chapel and war memorial are in the centre of the village beside the A428 Bedford-Northampton road.
