Local Shops, Russell Drive, Ampthill
The shop in the foreground is a newsagents. I grew up in this area during the 70s and 80s and it was always known as "Candy Joys". The unit to the left of this one is now a Physiotherapy clinic and the unit to the left of that sells double glazing. I remember both units being part of the same grocery shop and off-licence. There was a ramp installed between the two units so that shoppers could get up and down with their trolleys. Around the corner to the left was a greengrocers run by Andy Anderson and a hair salon. A closer view of the postbox can be seen here: Image]
