Dandelions of Maulden
Taken from the rear of industrial units on Clophill Road, Maulden, looking towards Image] (the very top of the tower of which is just visible above the trees, centre). There seems to be a good crop of dandelions in the next field ! The long white feature (rear left) is a temporary structure, being an enormous marquee.

Maulden Lower School
Maulden Lower School viewed from Ampthill Road. Immediately after taking this photograph, I was stopped by Officer 1337 of Bedfordshire Police who wanted to know who I was and why I was photographing a school. I explained that I was photographing landmarks for the Geograph site. I was then asked to provide identification before being allowed to continue on my way. This is supposedly done to protect us all from terrorists, but I for one do not feel any safer. There are of course other unsavoury characters who may wish to photograph schools, but I doubt that any of them would be so clueless as to do this on New Year's Day. The discussion boards here at Geograph show that my experience is all too common. A sad sign of the paranoid police state we now live in.
