Furzton Lake, Milton Keynes.
Constructed in the mid eighties as one of a series of "balancing lakes" - designed to hold floodwater during heavy rain, Furzton lake is now a valuable environment for wildlife, home to a large population of geese and waterfowl.

Heron just about to land on a Mallard
The mallard is standing on the top of a sculpture, an artistic feature on a small island in the lake. It is also a favourite resting place for herons.
