Deer in front of Park Farm, Woburn Abbey
Note the straggly strips of "velvet" hanging from the newly grown antlers on the grazing deer. I don't know the precise purpose of the little black & white building on the right, but it forms part of Park Farm which obviously manages the deer and other farm wildlife in the park - as opposed to the more exotic species that roam the adjacent Safari Park !

Deer, Woburn Abbey
This fine collection of deer was munching contentedly on the grass of Woburn Abbey. Straggly bits of "velvet" hung from many of the antlers, indicating that they had been freshly grown for the Spring and that rutting season would soon be here. (See also Image]) for more straggly velvet !
