5 Miles to Sittingbourne
This milestone stands alongside the A2 London Road close to the junction with Seymour Road. The stone looks older than the metal plate which is attached to it. The plate on the "other" side is missing.

Oast Houses
Long ago converted into houses and offices, these oasts and barn stand on the junction of Seymour Road and the A2 near Rainham, Kent. Oast houses were used for drying hops for beer making. I can remember hops growing in this part of Kent until about 12 years ago.
