Footpath to Walderslade
This path leads from the A229 Maidstone Road past the former Mid-Kent College towards Vale Drive, before heading onwards to Walderslade. The former college buildings are being demolished and a new housing estate will replace it.

Lightning Jet Plane Memorial
On A229 to Rochester. Rochester Airport in background. This Lightning aircraft, ZF581, was built on 19th December 1967. It saw active service in the Royal Saudi Air Force. Its final flight was in January 1986,it was then rescued from a scrap-yard in 2000 then was restored by volunteers on behalf of BAE Systems. The Flight Control and Air Data Systems for the Lightning were designed and produced in Rochester by BAE Systems. They provided the foundations for avionics industry in Rochester from the 1960's. This aircraft commemorates the legacy, the aerospace heritage of the Medway Towns and the role played by Rochester Airport in the development of local aviation.

The demolition of Mid-Kent College, Chatham
This large college on the A229 Maidstone Road, closed a few years ago. A new college has been built in Gillingham. See Image Countryside Properties are going to build an estate of houses on the site, after the buildings have been demolished. Under the new name Horsted Park.
