Sharnal Street no more
This section of Sharnal Street is disused. The street ends at the white gates near Sharnel Street Farm. The street used to connect to the A228 Ratcliffe Highway, it has now been bypassed, and the street is now just an access road to the houses on the street.

This was once the main road across the Hoo Peninsula
This is Sharnal Street which was once the main road across Hoo but since it has been by-passed by the new A228 (Ratcliffe Highway) is a quiet byway which has been closed to cars. As can be seen nature is reclaiming it but it is still used by walkers and cyclists avoiding the A228.
