Former Rochester Cement Works offices
The main part of the cement works was behind the photographer, but has now been demolished. The part of the works on the east side of the main road with the offices and storage silos still exists.

North Halling: old cement works, new housing
A view across the Medway valley from footpath RS201. The houses in the foreground have been built on the site of an old cement works. Disused buildings that were part of the same complex survive on the far side of the A228.

A228 - road liable to flooding
There is a spot height four metres above ordnance datum along this stretch, so the worry may be extreme tides in the nearby Medway, but it more likely to be land water held back at high tide.
